Beastly-Alex Flinn

I am a beast. A beast. Not quite wolf or bear, gorilla or dog, but a horrible new creature who walks upright – a creature with fangs and claws and hair springing from every pore. I am a monster. You think I’m talking fairy tales? No way. The place is New York City. The time is now. It’s no deformity, no disease. And I’ll stay this way forever – ruined – unless I can break the spell. Yes, the spell, the one the witch in my English class cast on me. Why did she turn me into a beast who hides by day and prowls by night? I’ll tell you. I’ll tell you how I used to be Kyle Kingsbury, the guy you wished you were, with money, perfect looks, and a perfect life. And then, I’ll tell you how I became perfectly beastly.

Beastly is a well written book. The only problem I didn't feel like it was enough. I missed the passion from it. It started out awesome. Kyle was the "prince" in the school, every girls dream, the rich guy whose parents didn't give a shit he lived or died. He got anything he wanted with his (his Dad's) money and beauty. Of course, underneath there's a guy who is totally insecure and hiding from the whole world, pretending to be a jerk. It was a very promising story line. But somehow in the end it became boring, sometimes even dumb. Like with the part when Kyle decides he isn't Kyle anymore, he is Adrian because Kyle "died". Seriously? Than there's this whole chatroom thing what first seem to be a great idea but only until I read there's Ariel and the Frog Prince because then I thought it was ridiculous. For me Kyle changing into a good guy somehow happened way too fast. I expected more sulking in his room and hating the world part because really, a guy who could have anything he wanted it must be shocking to transform into a monster. There isn't anything I could say about Lindy, she's just an average girl - okay, with a messed up background but still there isn't anything interesting in her. Not to mention the dumb excuse why she couldn't find her way back to the house. But I loved Kendra because she was pretty cool and Will who was the only fun part in story with Kendra, I'm kinda sad they didn't get more words.

I think this is going to be a book I won't mind being made into a movie. I think it will be awesome, better than the book. Alex Pettyfer's got this "I-hate-the-world" face so I think he's perfect for the role and there's Neil Patrick Harris, too. If the man take the role than the movie will rock. I seriously think he can't fail.
