When Brittany Ellis walks into chemistry class on the first day of senior year, she has no clue that her carefully created “perfect” life is about to unravel before her eyes. She’s forced to be lab partners with Alex Fuentes, a gang member from the other side of town, and he is about to threaten everything she's worked so hard for—her flawless reputation, her relationship with her boyfriend, and the secret that her home life is anything but perfect. Alex is a bad boy and he knows it. So when he makes a bet with his friends to lure Brittany into his life, he thinks nothing of it. But soon Alex realizes Brittany is a real person with real problems, and suddenly the bet he made in arrogance turns into something much more. In a passionate story about looking beneath the surface, Simone Elkeles breaks through the stereotypes and barriers that threaten to keep Brittany and Alex apart.
Having a little break from job and myth hunting I read a book, Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles. I have mixed feelings about it. I loved how for the outside two so different people is the exact same underneath and i can't stay away from love-hate stories - my sore point. It's a beautifully written story but I'm not really okay with the ending what is way too pink for me - the disadvantage of reading young adult books. I really liked the characters, though there were some parts -mostly around the end - when our heroin wasn't my fave even if I understood her motives. I mean, trying to save her love is a very novel thought but she couldn't see the consecvencies of her actions - not that it's her fault she doesn't know anything about the rules of the southside. Anyway, it is a great book and I'm going crazy not finding the sequel anywhere. If anybody knows a site I could download the Rules of Attraction don't hesitate send me the link, please!
